Cookie Diet

OK, so I know that a cookie diet (thanks Vanilla) sounds too good to be true, but I think I may have found one that actually works.

In the past 5 days I have eaten (I can’t believe that I am going to admit this IN WRITING for everyone to see), approximately:

  • 32 homemade chocolate chip cookies (I had to make some for Sam to take to work and then more for Valerie's son Benjamin's baptism on Saturday--and hey, that's really only about 6 per day)
  • At least half a pan of Rice Kryspy Treats (again, I have Ben as an excuse…and truth be told, I have been known to eat an entire pan of these all on my own—just ask Valerie)
  • Half of a half gallon tub of Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream (ummm…it has been hot here so I needed it to help cool down)
  • And who knows how much cookie dough I actually consumed while making the cookies

Clearly I have some sort of problem, but somehow this has resulted in my losing 4 pounds. No kidding. I was scared to see what damage had been done by my reckless abandonment of all self control when I stepped on the scale this morning and realized that I was 4 pounds lighter than last week. Maybe it’s because I was too full from all of the junk food to actually eat any other food except for some vegetable lasagna on Sunday night, so I really just consumed my normal amount (or less) of calories.

What ever it is—I’m ready to package it up and sell it to America.

Hi...it's Shannon...you are a woman after my heart...I would eat cookies and treats for every meal, all day if I could, although I woudn't lose 4 pounds, I'd probably gain 40!

Shannon--I’m sure it’s just a fluke and it will all catch up with me by the end of this week. We’ll see how fat I am at swimming on Thursday…

I couldn't agree more with your diet. In fact I once said to Annette at church (who is a doctor, for others who might be reading) "we should just eat as much junk as we want all day, consuming the same amount of calories as normal food, and then take a vitamin supplement. perfect!".
She looked at me with a horrified look on her face and got really serious. "That's not a good idea."
Okay, I was only partially kidding with the idea Annette.
But you've now made me see that it's totally fine and dandy! :)
