Random Stuff

Some random pictures from the last few months.

Open house at the North Las Vegas airport.
Fun stuff to see and a bounce house for the kids. Definitely a fun Saturday afternoon outing.

Baby cousins are waaaaay more fun than a doll.
Dressing up with cousins is fun too!
Pony ride at a birthday party for one of Hannah's classmates.
Hannah got an award at school for perfect attendance and knowing 300 sight words (she's up to 500 now!).

Seriously, could these two be any cuter?!
Note to self: Don't leave the two year old alone in the bathroom while you run upstairs to help Hannah put away her clean clothes. On a positive note, at least it wasn't a brand new roll and she didn't put it all in the toilet. Plus, this is an excellent blackmail photo for when she's a teen. :-)
Lunch at In-N-Out with friends.
Helene playing on the balcony with her new playtime buddy.
 Movie time at Red Rock!
 They love to dress up!
(I don't know where they get it from :) )
Painting is a popular past time at our house.
Strawberry Shortcake at the Summerlin Strawberry Festival.
(Sorry Hannah, we only got one shot....long line for pics).
They did manage to get in a quick dance with Strawberry Shortcake though.

Fire Station Visit

The local fire station is less than a mile from the house (although after being here a year, I have still never ever heard the sirens go by) and we went to their open house one Saturday.

We missed the official tour and the "jaws of life" demonstration because we did this first.
(Big surprise, I know).
But the kids all got hats and were able to explore the firehouse and equipment.
10x better than a garden hose.
Hannah took at least 3 turns, she loved it.
Even Helene got to spray the hose.
Rescue helicopter.
As a side note, I thought for sure I'd miss all the helicopters that I always heard around Pasadena (strange, I know, but it's a sound of home), but Summerlin seems to have their fair share--plus lots of small personal planes flying overhead as well. Feels like home.

Summer 2010 Revisited

So, remember this post about our fun field trips this summer? And this post with the summer recap and the lament about losing yet another memory card?

Guess what my parents found at their house? My old camera!!

With lots of summer pictures on it!
Yay!
I'm guessing in my haste to get out of town for a little Vegas getaway (sans kids) after my niece's wedding, I must have left the camera at the reception, and my parents picked it up and took it home.

Anyway--fun to see pictures from hanging out with Valerie this summer and pictures from summer back in SoCal. The timing of finding these pictures is ironic, as always.

Wagon ride at Wheeler Farm
We miss you guys!
Self portrait attempt of me and Helene
Seriously.
How can anyone eat these adorable piglets??
Kids were obsessed with this river
And throwing big rocks into it
We came back in town just in time for Hannah's last week of school. Here is her last day.
She missed her teachers so much!
Hannah and her friend Jasmine who is in her class again this year.
We made a trip out to Underwood Farms with Krista and the gang.
Noticing the abandoned diet coke
But can't quite reach it
and not happy about it.
I so love this picture!
And I had to include this picture because it's almost the same as this one of Hannah
over 3 years ago
uhhh....since when do my kids like sand?!
She looks so little.
And that's the end of my revisit of Summer 2010.
Good times.
