Fire Station Visit

The local fire station is less than a mile from the house (although after being here a year, I have still never ever heard the sirens go by) and we went to their open house one Saturday.

We missed the official tour and the "jaws of life" demonstration because we did this first.
(Big surprise, I know).
But the kids all got hats and were able to explore the firehouse and equipment.
10x better than a garden hose.
Hannah took at least 3 turns, she loved it.
Even Helene got to spray the hose.
Rescue helicopter.
As a side note, I thought for sure I'd miss all the helicopters that I always heard around Pasadena (strange, I know, but it's a sound of home), but Summerlin seems to have their fair share--plus lots of small personal planes flying overhead as well. Feels like home.
