Programs and Parties

This month has seriously just flown by!! There seems to be so many activities going on. Both Sammy and Hannah had holiday programs--luckily they were on different days.

Hannah's was first on Friday the 11th. She had to be at school at 7:45am (as opposed to her usual start time of 11:15am) since the performance started at 8:20am. I can't believe Sammy used to make it to school at that time for 2 years. I got up at 6:30am and we were still late getting there. It didn't help that it was raining--and I had three other people to get dressed besides myself.

By the time I dropped her off and got into the auditorium, the place was packed. There were no seats at all. I kept walking around looking for a spot for me and Samuel (who was on his way after dropping Sammy off at April's to go to school with her and her son since Sammy's school doesn't start until 8:45am. (Thanks again April!!)). I finally found one open seat in the very back row, so I took it. I figured Sam could just stand behind me since I was in the last row. Luckily, I had the camcorder because Sam didn't get there in time. (Shhhh, don't tell Hannah, she doesn't know). I tried to take pictures too, but since I was so far back AND trying to record with the camcorder AND hold Helene all at the same time--this is all I got.

Her class sang 4 songs and she did a great job--so adorable! I'm glad we at least have video of it.

(One of the mom's in the class said that she got quite a few shots of Hannah since she was standing next to her daughter, but she hasn't emailed the pictures to me yet. If I ever get them, I will upload them. And I don't know how to upload from the camcorder...I think I have to dub it from the little tape it's on to a DVD and that's not going to happen anytime soon, so this is all I've got. SORRY HANNAH!)

Sammy's program was Wednesday the 16th. We had no problem finding seats and got some good shots.

Then it was over to Sammy's school (well, after dropping Hannah and Helene at Danielle's house (thank you!) because I couldn't take them with me)

Sammy's class did a Hannukah themed party with dreidles and latkes.

Pretty low-key IMO, but he had fun...I guess. Can you tell I am still not thrilled with this school? I guess I'm just disappointed that he's not having the Kindergarten experience that I want him to have. Don't get me wrong, the teacher is so much better than the one he originally had, but I'm just not happy about the overall school experience he is having.

Anyway, we are all so happy to be on Winter Break for the next two weeks! YAY!
