It's not a good thing...

...when your computer stops recognizing your scan disk in the H:\ drive (so I can't update the blog with birthday party pictures), AND the next day when you turn it on...you get just a blue screen with the hp logo.

Yeah. Not good.

So you go into panic mode, right? Because N O T H I N G is backed up.

6 years of pictures

6 years of tax returns

emails

resumes

recipes

NOTHING.

So you try again.

Shut off.

Wait.

Turn back on.

Blue screen again.

You silently have a heart attack and all you can do is pray that it will just turn on one more time.

And the third time's a charm.

And so you immediately sign up for this.

I'm not being paid to endorse them. I'm just trying to not have another freak out the next time my computer won't load and it's officially dead.

So, not sure when I'll be posting about the birthday party...or anything else in the near future, for that matter.

Because really, let's be honest. Who wants to just sit and listen to me ramble without looking at pictures of adorable kids?

That's what I thought.

Doris-

I love a good ramble, thank you for sharing. I am glad you got all of your things back, I can't imagine the moments of panic you must have had. Thanks for the direction.

OH. MY. GOSH. That is the worst!!! I had a really bad computer virus that wiped everything out, but fortunately a certain whiz in the ward managed to salvage a lot of it, and fortunately we had our pictures backed up on an external hard drive. But I feel your pain!!! I'm SO GLAD that things are OK!

wheeeeew! i think my heart is racing now too. there are very few things i hate more than sitting on the phone with Dell while they try to fix my computer from afar. i once logged 11 hours straight with a tech. GRR!

that said, an external hard drive is another good option--very easy and you don't have to pay monthly. just keep it somewhere safe because if your kids drop it...it's all over.

Ewww...my panic goes out to you. I lost a whole lot of pictures last summer, too. Total bummer. I'm so sorry. I'll have to look into the back up company, too.

that just happened to me last week!! my desktop (10 years old) totally crashed and I had all savvy and coles pics from baby-3. I was so sad so I hired someone off craigslist to come fix it. he couldn't fix it but he got it running long enough to back up all my files and pics. So scary! i also invested last week in a computer backup. so crazy. it was SO worth it to pay someone to come though, he only charged 45 bucks and did 4 hours of work on my computers! struggling college students, gotta love them
