Visit to Washington

So, we took a trip to Mt. Vernon, WA (north of Seattle) for my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. It was great to see so much of the family together--some cousins I hadn't seen in almost 20 years! (Does that make me sound old?)

Since we arrived at the gate more than an hour before our flight (traffic was light and there was no wait to get through security), we visited the McDonald's (Sam's favorite...both of them) at LAX and had breakfast.

The flight was okay, considering they didn't have three seats together available, so Hannah and I sat in the row behind Samuel and Sammy. I highly suggest bringing a portable DVD player if you plan on traveling with a child--it kept him occupied for pretty much the entire way there. I wish I could say as much for Hannah. She slept for the first hour, but was miserable for the rest of the 90 minutes.

We stayed with my cousin Laurie and her husband Todd and their 3 kids. Sammy and Hannah had such a fun time playing and running around, I don't think I had to really watch or entertain them while we were there (except for watching Hannah and the stairs).

We went shopping at the outlets the second day (of course) and the babies feel asleep in the car. I just HAD to take a picture of it. So sweet. Don't you just LOVE the matching leopard car seats?!

Here are some pictures from the anniversary party.

We had such a good time!! It certainly sets the bar for when my parent's have their 50th wedding anniversary--I guess we have a few years to plan it still.

The flight home was early and hectic. Our flight was at 7am and I left Sam's jacket (with his ID in it) in Laurie's car, so he didn't have it to check in...fortunately they let him on anyway. But it took us 45 minutes to get through security and then we had to take a train to the gate. They were announcing the final boarding call just as we got to the gate. We just made it!

Hannah again slept for about 45 minutes and then screamed and cried for the rest of the way. I'm sure everyone on that flight hated me, oh well. They'll get over it.
