It was the most crowded I've seen it in a long time--even the Dumbo ride was a 35 minute wait.
Waiting in line to drive at Auto-topia with Melanie (Heidi's sister). Mel was so helpful with Sammy and Hannah--and Sammy really took to her immediately.
Next we headed over to the rocket ride and while the line was still quite long--the kids kept themselves entertained.
This is my favorite picture of the day!

Hannah took a brief nap while we waited for the parade to start. She actually slept through half of it and probably would have stayed asleep if it hadn't been delayed right in front of us with the music blaring. I was afraid she would wake up startled and crying, but she just sat up and looked at the giant sized Ursula and wasn't even fazed.
We were all a bit tired after all the running around in the heat, so we decided to do something low-key and ride the Disney Train ride around the park. Sammy loves trains.
I don't really remember ever going on the train at Disneyland before, so when we started going through tunnels I wasn't concerned. Sammy and Hannah love the tunnels on the 110 freeway, so I figured that they wouldn't be scared. They did fine with the first tunnel. The second tunnel seemed okay--there was a pretty view of the Grand Canyon, some cute animals...you get the picture. Then all of a sudden there were a bunch of scary dinosaurs with glowing eyes--both of my kids FREAKED!! I kept telling Sammy to just close his eyes that we would be out of the tunnel soon and I picked up Hannah and held her against me with her facing the back of the train. Poor thing kept telling me "dinosaurs scary" over and over. Then the train had some random delay right then and stopped in the tunnel--great. I managed to keep everyone calm until we started up again, but they were wary of the next few tunnels until we got off the train.
We headed over to the Princess store that was so super girl-y I LOVED it! Lots of frilly dresses with matching shoes and tiaras--I can't wait until Hannah is excited about this stuff! I'll have to settle for the paper crown for now.

All in all we had a great time, despite how tired I was from chasing kids around and pushing the stroller with both kids and lots of snacks.
As a side note, for the past three days Hannah will randomly tell me "dinosaurs scary". Great, now she is scarred for life. I just hope they don't have nightmares about it.
Everyone was happier after getting a churro.

Fun day! I loved all the details and good job taking pictures! You documented well.
I'm impressed you braved the heat and Spring Breakers. But it sounds like it was worth it.
you and dana are good at long blog posts...I don't have the motivation :-) I love disneyland! I could hang out there everyday! And I agree...a churro makes everything better!
YAY DISNEYLAND!!! Ooooh, I can't wait to go back! It looks like so much fun with kids. (My vegetable newborn probably won't care very much right now, but someday he'll really enjoy it too.) :-)
Doris Doris Doris ... your Disneyland adventures made me pull out the old photos of us from age 15 (remember going down to LA with my parents)? Don't worry - I won't let them see the light of day .... they quickly were returned to their hiding place.
Sarah,
I actually think about that trip every time I go to Disneyland and see the big whale mouth where we took the picture of the three of us. That was seriously one of my favorite trips to Disneyland!! I will never forget how much fun we had--and how much fun it was to be 15.
Tell your parents thanks again for such a great time 16 years ago. :)
Your blog is totally making me miss SoCal. I thought, "Oh, I should plan a trip to go to the Noah's Ark exhib--...oh, ya. Guess not."
