So we've been slacking off a bit this week. We missed school on both Monday AND Thursday--and our only excuse is that neither I nor Sammy wanted to get up in the morning.
I'm not sure why I just can't get these kids back on their normal sleep schedule. I know I blamed the time change, but that was over a month ago! I suppose it also has to do with Spring Break messing up bedtimes too. Who knows. All I know is that I CANNOT get Sammy to sleep before 9:00pm (I can get him in bed at his normal 7:30 or 8, but he just talks/sings/wiggles etc. for over an hour before passing out) and Hannah...don't even get me started. Her sleep time is all over the place. I could go on and on...but I won't. It's really not that interesting...I just needed to complain.
I've slacked off on the blog, partly because I'm lazy and partly because I didn't want to post new stuff until I went private (stupid stalker).
On a lighter note, my parents went to Europe for two weeks and left their mini-van here for me to use. Hurray!! I have already warned the kids, no eating or drinking in the van (if you've seen my car, you understand). And I LOVE the automatic EVERYTHING...dual sliding side doors (just push a button and they open), sunroof, mirrors that adjust for backing-up, the backing-up beeping thing if there is something behind you (yeah, I could have used THAT in my car to avoid backing into the brand new Lexus of my neighbor's right in front of my house...but that's another story), the 250 horsepower (versus my piddly 160hp), 6 drink holders (!), folding rear seats, automatic liftgate...I could go on and on, but I won't.
I think my favorite are the power side sliding doors...could I be anymore lazy? I just love that all I have to do is press a button and they open and the kids can jump in by themselves and get into their carseats.
I am so loving the commute to preschool every morning and so are the kids. They love being up high and able to see everything. Um...how many times did I just use the word love to describe the van? And what kind of a life am I living where having a mini-van for two weeks absolutely makes my day? No, week...no, month!
Ah, being a mom, driving a mini-van...good times.

Hail the van! I totally get what you're saying, it changed my life. And I'm super sad we don't have the lazy doors--dang 2002 model!
It's funny what motherhood can do to you. Your loving the van post reminded me of I have almost posted about stuff like how we found the BEST sippy cups ever, and then I thought, What kind of life am I leading if the most important thing I have to share is how great these sippy cups are. (But seriously... the washability factor and the Noah loving it factor were both pretty high. It really was a good sippy.) When something makes your life easier, you just want to share it, right?
Ahhh. Nice luxury! I've been avoiding the mini van for as long as I can b/c I love zipping around in my "smaller" car. But maybe there is something fun about driving one....
Dana-
I'm know what you mean on the car vs. minivan. I always swore that I would NEVER drive one, but I am now converted. It is so nice to be able to fit two huge Britax carseats, the double stroller, Sammy's bike, plus do some Target and Costco shopping and fit ALL of in at the same time.
I always have to take out the double stroller from my car if I know that we are going to head out to Costco or Target. And I am so mad when I drive all the way out to Costco and realize that I forgot to takeout the stroller.
Yep...I'm converted.
Ah the van...the gas'll kill you, but the space is fantastic!
You definitely know that you're in a different phase of life when a mini-van is a "cool car"!! I don't even have two kids yet and I covet mini-vans!! Happy crusin'!
How did we ever survive childhood riding around in STATION WAGONS! I swear a lot of minivans have more amenities than limos. Happy driving! ... while it lasts.
