So I heard back from CHLA this afternoon and we are all set for Monday, January 26th. They can't give us a time until Friday or Saturday (!!), but at least we have a date. I am hoping we are the first surgery of the day like we were last time, but since they had to "squeeze" us in, I'm not going to get my hopes up.
I was able to move his party date to the Saturday before with no problem (YAY!) and sent an email out to most of the parents of the kids invited and called the rest.
It's nice to have some peace of mind in knowing when things are happening and what to expect (for the most part). Here's hoping it all goes smoothly.
Thanks for the emails and comments--I appreciate the love. :)

YAY! What good news! I hope it goes well. So glad it all worked out. Tender mercies.
That is wonderful! It really IS a huge deal, the whole birthday thing at his age. And this will mean he will have new things to distract him while he is in recovery. That planning turned out good! I'm glad there is something they can do for him. Josh's legs are curved inward, and he has 3 other problems with bones turned or bent in the wrong direction. Doctors here said there is nothing to do, but keep him in ortho shoes and plan on surgery when he is a teenager. I wish it could be done when he is young like Sammy. It's hard to see your baby hurting or struggling with anything. I hope things continue to fall in place and work out during this time of anticipated changes. Good luck, I'm thinking of you!
Oh, good! I'm sure he will still be on a high from the birthday party when surgery day comes, and he will have lots of new toys to play with when he gets home.
Glad Sammy gets his birthday party and you were able to move the surgery up. Now just keep that baby from coming early!
Hey Doris! I'm so glad you were able to get the dates worked out. Phew. I was reading your last post & stressing out for you. I was actually thinking about how much I'm already stressing about the logistics of my birth (who will babysit, who will drive to hospital, how will jonny get home in time, etc.) and I still have 5 months to go. So I'm glad at least you've got things worked out on the calendar, because any one of those things on its own is enough to keep anybody busy.
Good luck with the surgery! Good luck with the bday party! And good luck with the last few weeks before baby #3!!!!
Oh joy!!! Hooray! I just read your other post, so I'm glad everything was resolved so quickly. (Ha)
yay! glad it all worked out. can we take hannah on monday night after work?
oh my gosh I can't believe this is all happening before the baby comes!! What a surprise. It sounds like it will actually be quite a blessing you can deal with this before dealing with 3 kids!! Good luck you guys will be in our thoughts and prayers, I remember how hard it was for you last time to see him in so much pain.........hopefully it will be a much easier recovery this time....crossing my fingers..
