Hannah is loving our Parent Ed classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it's fun to have so many other moms and kids from church in the same class as well. She is so excited to be going to "school" and asks me everyday if we are going to "Hannah's school" today.
Sammy seems happy to be back at school, although some of the enthusiasm from last year seems to be gone. Not sure if it's because pretty much all of his friends from last year went on to Kindergarten (it's a 2 year Pre-K program for 3 and 4 year olds) or he's already sick of getting up early (he's totally not a morning person). I'm sure he will get back into the groove of school soon.
No big outings this week. We spent one afternoon just drawing out front with sidewalk chalk and riding trikes/pushing babydoll strollers. They had a blast. I need to remind myself that they don't always need to be entertained and taken out. We CAN actually have fun at home!
We did head over to Kidspace with Dana one afternoon, and can I just say how nice it is to go there now that summer is over. There was hardly anyone there---a welcome change from the crazy summer crowds of kids and parents.
The kids have been talking about Halloween lately (thanks to Target), so we put up the Halloween decorations this week. It's so cute to see how excited they get over all the decorations (not that we have that many for Halloween) and they are so ready to go Trick-or-Treating. They talked me into buying $10 of Halloween candy while we were at Target. (Yeah, not THAT hard to do...getting the pregnant lady to buy chocolate).
Speaking of pregnant, the pregnancy is going well. I haven't blogged about it much...I guess because it's my third. This pregnancy is definitely different in several ways. I have had a hard time sleeping (that may be due to stress more than pregnancy) and am frequently awake from 2am-6am. I have that weird pregnancy congestion that comes on late at night and lasts for most of the morning. I think I went through an entire box of Kleenex this week. And I've only gained about 11 pounds so far, which is a miracle considering I gained 60 pounds while pregnant with Sammy and 50 with Hannah--AND I've definitely been hitting the chocolate lately. So YAY!
Luckily, I usually lose it all about 6 months after having the baby, in fact, I lost 70 pounds after having Sammy so it was nice to end up skinnier than I started. I wasn't quite as lucky after Hannah, but I did lose all but about 5 pounds from my starting weight. I am thinking it's because I am past 30 now and the metabolism is slowing down, so I was a bit scared on how this one would go weight-gain wise. I don't want to have to lose 50 pounds with an even slower metabolism. So, yay again for only 11 pounds at almost 19 weeks.
So, there's my most-likely-boring-to-most-but-I-want-it-for-my-journal update.

I actually loved this post! Love hearing the weight gain and loss info. :)
Glad the weight is going great so far and that chocolate is part of the diet! As it should be.
I know chocolate is such a mainstay of a pregnant woman's diet. I just can't stop myself. I actually read a study that eating a certian amount of chocolate reduces your risk of pre-term labor? It was like a very small amount but still, now you can feel justified........
Yeah, I can totally tell that you are not really gaining weight. You look great!!! I'm SO excited for Halloween too. I think it's going to be extra fun this year with a baby. And yay Halloween candy! Yep, been eating quite a bit of that already. :-)
Hey! Cute pictures! Sorry to hear about the 2am wakeups-- i was doing that for a few weeks and it was driving me nuts! my kid is finally sleeping through the night after 2 years, and yet I'm still sitting there awake in the middle of the night. Very frustrating. Thanks for calling to check on Jonny last week (or week before I guess). I was so freaked out reading the news all weekend & looking at photos of firemen pulling people out of trains and stuff and thinking, "What if?" . Yikes. Anyway, glad you're having a nice mellow week with no medical emergencies. How's your hand, by the way? Sorry for the long comment... should have emailed instead I guess.
Thanks for reminding me why I'm waiting to start on #2 (at least trying, anyway)! Bleh, those sleepless prego nights absolutely killed me. You DO look great, btw. It's always a good feeling when you leave the obgyn actually pleased with your weight. :)
I'm glad to hear that the pregnancy is going well. I had that same congestion. It was my only "thing" during pregnancy (no sickness, no bloating), but I probably drove my co-workers at the time nuts with all of the nose blowing!
I had the opposite problem as you. I only gained about 25 pounds, and it took almost NINE MONTHS to lose it.
I'm dreading the gain and loss with subsequent pregnancies!!!!
Keep eating that chocolate, though. It's always good for you!!!
